The excel gives a message that it is blocked by another user however no user has it open.I am not able to edit it Pls guide

Hi,
Do you mean the message states 'The file is locked for editing by another user'? A screenshot would be useful.
Who is the other user?
Are you working on a file stored on a server ?
I'm not sure why this s is posted under the VBA forum?

Hello,
Ask the user who worked with it last to restart his or her computer.
This often happens when the Excel.exe process is still active even though Excel is closed.
