I'm pulling in a Power BI dataset into Excel.  I have two options Pivot Table or Table.  I would ideally like to pull a table in and then do further transformations in the Power Query editor but can't see how.  At the very least I would like to change the column headings.

Can anyone advise on how I can create a connection only in the Power Query editor rather than loading the table to a worksheet?

Either that or can anyone point me to some guidance on the syntax needed to edit the Command Text within the Connection Properties?

Hi Mike,

The connector only allows you to load the data into a table or a pivot table.

You'll have to do that then load the table into PQ, do your transformations, then save it back out to a new table.

regards

Phil
