Hi -
Hoping someone can help.
In the attached query sample result, the queried data has a purchase order number but the description changes slightly. These changes have no consistent delimiters nor are they blank.
How do you query the data and then fill down column B based on the first value in column A?
My goal is to group by Column A & B summarizing all the records.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Carolyn
You could use a Pivot Table but first you need to create a Helper Column.
Please refer attachment.
Hope this helps.

Hi Carolyn,
You can use Power Query Group By to get the desired results too. See attached.

Thank you SunnyKow and Mynda!
Both answers were helpful, but as I plan to load the query table into Power Pivot, Mynda's response best fit my needs.
I was missing the second line under new column "All Rows" in the Group by Advanced. See attached screen shot.
I now have the results needed for the data model.
Have a great day!
Carolyn
Hi Carolyn
No problem. Most important is that you found the solution that suit you needs.
