Hello,
I just have a question about security. I know there was something I saw somewhere about the organizational security and what to pick from the drop down box... However, I can't find it now. Could you please point me in the direction of this information as I've been ticking the box to say ignore (which is a little lazy) but something I should probably work out before I share too many reports.
Also, I have a colleague (actually the GM) that uses a Macbook, I have just shared one of my creations with him and he is saying he is unable to use the slicers, is this something that I can workaround?
Thank you
Maree
Hi Maree,
I don't go into the security settings in a lot of detail in the course, but this post has more information.
In regards to the Mac, I think your question is relating to Power Pivot or PivotTables because Slicers aren't related to Power Query. That said, Power Query for Mac is still in its infancy and currently it is only possible to refresh queries to some data sources as outlined here.
If you have loaded the data from Power Query to Power Pivot then your GM cannot use the Slicers on the Mac as Mac doesn't support Power Pivot. Your options are to embed the report with the Excel WebApp in a web page on your intranet or similar secure site, where he can use the Slicers, or he can open it in Excel Online (you need to save the file to OneDrive for this).
I hope that points you in the right direction.
