I've changed my data type in Power Query to "Date" but when I refresh and return the data to an Excel Table or into the Data Model the refreshed data seems to have reverted to a whole number. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Hi Adele,

If you open the query is the date column still set to Date type: Date?

What is the data type in Power Pivot?

Are you able to share an extract of the data in a file so we see the problem firsthand?

The data type in Power Query and Power Pivot is Date. The problem is when I load the data from Power Query into a table. The same thing seems to happen in a column where I have formatted as a Time format. Here is a snapshot of what the problem looks like. I can send a file but will need to get rid of some of the data first.

Thanks

Can you please share a sample of the file which contains the source data with the dates we can see in the screenshot you shared. It looks like it might be down to a formatting issue of the original source data. Where is the data coming from?
