Hi Mynda,

A really simple one that I've been struggling with Confused  In your Query lesson 2.04 I tried to transform the sales column from text to currency.

1. removed the $-symbol and changed the Data Type to currency => produced an error

2. removed $-symbol and "," from the cell amount, then tried to change Data type to currency => error

3. just changed the data type => error

The solution is probably really simple, but I need to know it.

Hi Jan,

Welcome to the forum!

It sounds like a regional setting issue. Remove all changed type steps, then try right-clicking the column header > Change Type > Using Locale... > in that dialog box you can specify the region settings and how to handle commas and full stops.

Thanks for the reply Mynda!

First I must apologize for not lavishing you with praise for the Dashboard course. LaughIt was really well thought out and easy to follow, but still a lot of hard-to-grasp items for a vlook-up artist like myself. I plan to work through parts of it again.

The "Locale"-option solved the issue I had in Query lesson 2.04. "Currency and "Australia" fixed it.

Have a great day!
