I note that many of the things done on Power Query can be done on Excel, therefore I am not clear on the real purpose of Power Query. Excel seems easier to use. Could you help me understand better the difference between both tools?
Thanks

Hi Dieneba,
The benefit of using Power Query over Excel is that it records the steps so you can automate the process and the next time you need to gather and clean the data it can be done with the click of a button.
If the task is a one off, then there's often not much benefit of using Power Query over Excel. However, if it's something you do each day/week/month etc., then you can automate that task.
I have many processes that I run each month with the click of one button that save me hours of time that I would have had to spend if I'd just used Excel's built in tools.
