Power Query Adding Columns that aren't in queries

Weird problem. I set up 5 excel files with identical columns/column names. I created a master that queried and appended all tables together. All was working fine until one table seemed to become corrupt and added and moved columns. After numerous attempts to fix I rebuilt the entire table and then rebuilt the queries but whenever I add the table that was originally corrupt (but rebuilt in an entirely different file) it adds the first 2 columns to the end of the table.

Any ideas?

Not really without seeing the file. I wonder if there is anything in the M code that specifically refers to these columns?

I checked the M code which didn't tell me anything. I managed to fix but had to literally rebuild the table I was querying manually, by typing the header rows and the first row of data, rebuild the dropdowns then pasting values in the new table. Not an ideal situation but it worked.

Thanks

Hmmm, I wonder if there was a rogue space or other character in one or some of the cells that was fixed when you recreated the table.

Anyhow, glad you got it working. Hopefully it was a one off.
