Hi Mynda,
I am unable to attach the excel query working file. Therefore, providing the table here.
I have tried using power query to merge Industry Table and Client Table to pull the license applicability to the client table against the license names. Indeed, used Index and unpivot other columns to fetch the require output but not successful.
Please share if any video or steps on how to get the client table with the expected result "Applicable" against the licenses.
Industry table
Industry | License name |
Banking | Fire NOC |
Information Technology | Fire NOC |
Power & Energy | Fire NOC |
Retail | Fire NOC |
Banking | Legal Metrology |
Power & Energy | Legal Metrology |
Retail | Legal Metrology |
Banking | Lift license |
Information Technology | Lift license |
Power & Energy | Lift license |
Retail | Lift license |
Construction, Infrastructure | Lift license |
Output: client table
Client | Industry | Fire NOC | Legal Metrology | Lift License |
X | Banking | Applicable | Applicable | Applicable |
Y | Information Technology | Applicable | Applicable | Applicable |
Z | Power & Energy | Applicable | Applicable | Applicable |
A | Retail | Applicable | Applicable
B | Consulting, Services
C | Construction, Infrastructure | Applicable |
Hi Sheela,
Please see file attached. You need to merge the tables, then add a conditional column and then Pivot the License Name column.
Note: this post was made in the public Power Query forum, so I was lucky to see it as I don't often have time to help out there. Please ensure you post to the private course members' forum for dedicated support from me.

Many thanks, Minda. Tried using it. Working perfect. I will use private zone to upload my queries. Thank you.
