Please see illustration below. How do i get rid of this error?
Hi Cele,
If you click on the error link you'll get a list of the errors, although I find it's often easier to edit the query and look for the columns containing the errors. You can then click on the cell containing the error and it will tell you the issue.
It's often when you try to apply a data type to a column and some cells contain a value that can't be said data type.

When i click on it, its like the error has a query of its own. And it says that it added a column, which i never added.
so when i proceed to delete it. I adds it back on again Its the strangest thing I have ever seen.
Hmmm, Gremlins! Are you able to share the file with me so I can reproduce the error and try to understand the cause?
Mynda
sure, please see attached.
Hi Cele,
I can't see your queries because they're referencing files on your K drive, which I don't have.
I created new queries from the PriorYr and CurrentYr tables in your file and appended them without errors, so I'm not able to reproduce the issue.
It looks like the error may be in your CurrentYr table because you already have a step to remove errors in that query. It's likely that the error is caused by applying a data type to a cell that can't be a particular data type, e.g. setting Date data type to a cell containing text.
Going back to the error adding columns; when you click on the 'error' hyperlink in the queries pane Power Query creates a new query that displays the error data. Is this what you mean by it having a life of its own?
Can you please click on this error link and send me a screenshot of the query that is returned and the M code from the advanced editor.
