how do we tackle down errors in a query. When I create query, it shows no errors, but if I create a connection that links to a pivot table, it shows an error why would this happen?

Welcome to our forum!
You can use the data profiling tools on the view tab of the Power Query editor window to show the column quality, profile and distribution, which are all tools to check for anomalies and errors in your data.
Note: the link above shows the Power BI Power Query editor, but it is the same in Excel.
