Conditional formatting in a Power Query pivot table

I combine different queries into one 'final' query that is loaded into a pivot table. I added several conditional formatting rules to the pivot table. The source data that the queries tap into, are updated daily.

When I opened the pivot table this morning, the data were updated (as expected), but all my conditional formatting in the pivot table was gone. Is the pivot table I originally made maybe overwritten by the newly updated pivot table? And may this be the reason all formatting rules are lost? And if so, is there a way to make sure the formatting is kept?

Thanks for your reply.

Hi Sofie,

Here are some resources related to pivot conditional formatting.

Make sure your pivot are properly formatted according to this article, otherwise the formatting will not follow the pivot changes.

Hi Sofie,

Conditional Formatting in PivotTables will only be retained in the values area, as per Catalin's second link in his reply above. If you applied formatting to the row and column labels then this may be overwritten upon refresh.
