Can I Have Close/Load AND Close/Load To?

I know the documentation says that in Power Query, one can save a query with Close/Load OR Close/Load To (where I can specify a connection only).   But, can I have my cake and eat it too?  The reason is that I have a query where I've done some manipulations and I'd like to load it to a table where I can see my output and then pivot on what I've done so far.  But, I'd also like to retain my query, delete some columns and add some others for many more processing steps.

I thought I'd get around the limitation of being able to select only one "Close/Load" option by duplicating the first query.  In that way, I could keep the first query as a connection only and make the second query output to a table.  But, the duplicate command seems to duplicate the "Close/Load" behavior of the first one.  My question is: is there any way to change the "Close/Load" behavior of the duplicated query so that it can be set independently?  I've played around, but can't seem to divorce its behavior from the first query.

I know I could just continue with my query modifications and load the finished product at the very end.  But, the first query that I'd like to save in a table contains a lot of details (for one audience) that needs to be removed before the final aggregated query gets saved in another table (for a different audience).

Thanks,

Cory

Ah, it looks like the Reference function will let me do a "Close/Load To" rather than the Duplicate function, which seems to preserve all the settings of the original table.

Hi Cory,

You can also change the Close and Load settings via the Queries & Connections Pane in Excel. Just right-click the query you want to modify > Load To.
