I need to add a new column in a a table that feeds the information for pq. However, when i added the new column and i tried to refresh the query; the new data did not come up in the query. My data is in a table format. Not sure if i need to so something else so when i add new columns in the source data PQ can display all the information up to date. if you need to see a sample file please let me know.

If your query started "From Table/Range" once you add a column to the table, it should automatically be in your query without you need to refresh it.
I just replicated what I understood is your question and I came up with the result you want it. Please see sample attached and add a column to the right and it will be in the query once you go in it and no need to refresh it.
About your issue, I believe what you can do is resizing your original table to include that column.
