How do I take a column and append it to the bottom of another column?
Both have the same type of data
Hi William,
Firstly, I've moved your question to our Power Query Members forum. The forums at the top are for non-members.
Session 3.04 of the Power Query course covers appending queries. Please watch that and if you have trouble please come back to this post and share your file so I can see where you got stuck and guide you from there.

I reviewed the 3.04 section of Power Query syllabus. I tried creating three separate queries to make tables to use for append or merge.
I still cant figure out how to take the values in one column and place the at the end of another column.
I have attached a sample file. Thanks for your patience. Bill
Hi Bill,
Thanks for sharing your data. You will have to clean one class at a time because the original data layout is not consistent i.e. the number of rows for each class is different, including and excluding the blank rows.
In the attached file you'll see the steps I've taken with the first class. Unforutnately because the data in column A bears no relation to the data in columns B:H (on a row by row basis) it cannot be used by Power Query to automate the assignment of the items. I've used Find and Replace to assign the item numbers, as you'll see.
I hope that helps. If you can get the source data in a better format then Power Query can do more of the cleaning, but column A is your main problem. It's like a notes field for the whole table, as opposed to being information for each row. It's breaking all the rules! 🙂

Thanks Mynda! I understand how you used Modulo, pivot and unpivot to transform the data for Class 1. I will contact the source of the data to attempt to get a different format of the data.
You've validated my thoughts that the data, in this case, is the cause of lots of extra effort. Have a great day! Bill
