Hello,

I am seriously thinking about signing up for the PowerPivot course. How do I get power pivot installed on my Office 365 Microsoft Excel 2016?

Thank you for providing some insight.

Ibrahim.

Hi Ibrahim,

You can find here the complete list of versions where Power Pivot is available: Where-is-Power-Pivot

To find what office version you have, you can find useful tips here: power-pivot-course

Thank you very much Catalin,

Your links were very helpful. I do have Office 365 Home edition, and from the list PowerPivot in not available for this version of office 365. I thought I could get Office 365 Pro Plus for $12/month subscription but I quickly realized that it is for businesses.

Is there any way that I can have PowerPivot?

Hi Ibrahim,

I don't think the ProPlus membership is limited to businesses as such, it's just a branding label. Have you tried to upgrade? This would be the best way to go because then you get all the updates, which are frequent these days.

The other option is to purchase the standalone version of Excel 2016 for around $100. This has Power Pivot but it won't get updates for new features.

I think there is another way to have Power Pivot.

Try Power BI..., it has Power Pivot and Power Query, and it's an independent application, outside excel, you don't have to upgrade excel, you can do many things with the free version. You will shoot 2 ducks with the same gun.

Thank you Catalin and Mynda,

Wow! I was surprised to see PowerPivot in the Power BI desktop environment. I do however prefer working in familiar environment.  I have therefore gone with Mynda's suggestion - Stand alone version of Excel 2016.

I do appreciate your inputs.

Again thank you!!

Ibrahim
