Hi,

Apologies if this seems like a really obvious question but I havent figured it out yet.  I have created a data model that I would like to use to build a HR dashboard.  Is it possible to hold the data model in a seperate workbook.  The data is quite sensitve so I would ideally like to use power pivot to analyse the data and build the graphs but I dont want the user to have access to the data model to view the actual data.

Ideal solution would be to open the power pivots in a separate workbook to the data model - is this even possible.

Thanks,

Brendan

Hi Brendan,

You cannot store the data model in a different workbook to the PivotTables, sorry. If you're working with sensitive data like then then the most secure reporting tool you have is Power BI.
