Power Pivot Pivot not returning the correct value from one of the tables

Hello,

I have the following tables in my data:

1) Delivery Data which has all orders with SKU Code, Delivery dates, the Delivered quantity and the Sold to District

2) Item Master with SKU code, the division to which this SKU Code belongs

3) The District Master with the District and the Division to which this District belongs

Issues:

1) For some reason I could not create a relationship between the SKU Code in the Item Master and the SKU Code in the Delivery data. The system returned a message " Atleast one column should have unique values". I checked my Item Master table but there were no duplicates.

To solve the above issue, i created another table called  "Unique SKU" by appending queries from the Delivery Data table and the Item Master table.

I used the 4th table (Unique SKU table) to create a relationship between SKU Code in Delivery Data and the Unique SKU table. I also set up a relationship between SKU code in Unique SKU table with SKU code in the Item Master table.

Issue: When i pivot the data in the Power Pivot, the SKU code is not pulling the correct Division from the Item master. It is showing all divisions against each SKU code. I tried a Vlookup separately and the Vlookup returned the correct values.

Can someone please advise why I am not getting the right output (Division) even though the two tables are connected with the SKU Code.

Thanks

Vinodh.

Hi Vinodh,

I guarantee if Power Pivot says there are duplicates, then there will be duplicates.

You can't have two dimension tables for the Item Master SKU codes.

Are you able to share your file, or at least the table Item Master table so I can find the duplicates for you?

Thank you Mynda.

I will not be able to share the data on the forum. Can you please give me an email id to which i can send the tables ? I will change some description and send you the tables.

Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks/Vinodh.
