Could you please let me know what is benefit to " mark as date table"?

Hi Vivian,
By marking a table as the 'Date Table' you're enabling the use of the DAX Time Intelligence functions and preventing Power Pivot from creating the built in date hierarchies for those dates. DAX Time Intelligence functions cannot be used with the built in date hierarchies.
Date Tables are especially important if your calendar year is fiscal.
