Hello,
I'm trying to add the climate zones according to Koppen-Geiger classifications. The zones are available in many different formats, such as Excel and geoJSON on this website: https://ggis.un-igrac.org/layers/igrac:other_climate_2007_koppen_geiger/metadata_detail
In another dataset I have a few hundred locations with Latitude and Longitude information (and more geographical information such as address).
What I want to achieve is to import and present the climate zones in a map visual in Power BI. I have accomplished that with some workaround but it just gives me the lines without any possibility to connect to other data.
1. Is there a way to import the climate zones straight in to Power BI? If so, what format should I use so save the most possible information about the climate zones?
2. How do I connect the locations with the climate zones? Since the climate zones consists of lines there are many many locations creating the line. Somehow it needs to be determined if the location for my buildings are within the zone.
Any suggestions on how to tackle this?
Thank you!
BR
Mattias
Hi Mattias,
You can get import the climate zones using the csv, Excel, JSON or PDF file types on the ggis.un site.
As for the issues you're experiencing visualising the data, can you please share a file so we can see what you mean?
Thanks,
Mynda
