Hello!
I am looking for the best visual to use for an s-curve. Do you guys use the line chart visual or is there a better one to use? I have been so confused when trying to set up an s-curve using the line chart, lol.
I don't have a workbook to attach.
I'm just looking for advice at the moment. What is the best approach for an S-curve?
Thank you!
Hi Valerie,
Yes, a line chart. There's no specific s-curve chart, but essentially it's a line chart. You'll have to write a measure to generate the cumulative values (or running total). You may be able to find this in the Quick Measures. Alternatively, you might find this tutorial on Power Pivot Running Totals helpful.
Hope that points you in the right direction.

Yes, thank you!
Your video was extremely helpful.
Thanks!
Hey just to let you knlow, I was able to find measures through YouTube that plot actual, forecasted, and planned progress lines in an s-curve chart!!! AND I could then apply it to other progress charts that I had to create.
I tried to upload the example. Not sure if it made it or not. Yes I see that it made it. I think one of those files can be deleted, lol.
Thank you!
Great to hear! The files didn't get attached. After selecting the file you need to press 'Start upload' and then wait for the grey check mark before submitting the reply. However, if the file is too big, it won't attach.
Not to worry. The main thing is that you found a solution.
