Hi there,
I used Forecasting Report on my Power BI desktop.
Then I downloaded numbers by clicking "Export data" button on the right corner of the chart.
Yesterday I got a csv file which constituted forecast data (historical numbers + forecast values with lower and upper bounds).
Today I tried to do the same but got the a csv file without forecast numbers which I can observe on the chart!
I just got the csv file with past actual numbers
Please, let me know what I do wrong.
And do you happen to know as to what statistical method is behind Forecast Report in Power BI.
Oleg.
Hi Oleg,
I'm not aware of a way to download the forecast data in the CSV. Although my version of Power BI Desktop is due for an uptate so you may have a more recent version that I do.
Do you still have the CSV file with the forecast data?
This post covers how Power BI calculates the forecast. It refers to Power View, but it is the same in Power BI. Power BI was born out of Power View and Power View is no longer being developed. Power BI is its replacement.

Hi Oleg,
I downloaded the latest version of Power BI Desktop and it still doens't download the forecast data.

Hi Mynda,
Please, filnd attached the file with the forecast data (columns F, G, H).
Also I found something relevant here https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/Forecast-Data-download-issue/td-p/123525
Thank you!
Hi Oleg,
Thanks for the file. Did you update Power BI between the first CSV which contains the forecast data and the second download which doesn't?
Mynda
I am not totally sure. I did an update the last week but don't actually remember when.
However, logically thinking I did it just in between that two days.
So your explanation is that that downloading function had been modified for the latest version?
I suspect so, but wanted to check if that could be the cause before I go back to Microsoft and ask.
I'll see what I can find out.
Thank you!
