Great course. I added a new column to website traffic excel sheet and used Text(date,"mmm") to extract month as Jan, Feb etc. It sorts fine in Excel via custom sort from Jan-Dec but when I create a month slicer in PBI Desktop, it displays months alphabetically. How do I get round this pls.

in Data section, In the Modeling tab, you can sort the column you want. The best way is to have a Month Name column and a Month Number, and sort column Month Number, this action will also sort the slicer.

When I go to Data section and Modelling tab, the sort by column is greyed out. It only becomes active when i select month number but sorting this way stilll does not sort the month name slicer for me. The Month name slicer still has months appearing in alphabetical order. What am I doing wrong ?. Thanks
If the data is sorted after the Month Number, the Month Name slicer will be sorted in the same order.
Can you upload a screenshot to show us what is selected in the Sort By Column list?
