Hi just wondering how to create a formula for a daily total but across two days with 30min break that will still calc OT like

10/01/16 20:00 to 10/01/16 23:30  3.5hrs

10/02/16 24:00 to 10/02/16 8:30    8.5 hrs so 12 hours total how do i show this daily total as 12 even though it crosses more than one day, and is there a way to have it automaticallly separate the OT? THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP

Hi SRICE831

See if this is what you are looking for (refer attachment).

Can you elaborate more on "automatically separate the OT"? Give some examples and their expected results.

This will help us to understand what you require.

Hi Sunny,

Nice solution your second one! Didn't know how to use the 'time' function in a clever way and here it is. Only thing is (of course) you have to ad your pause time somewhere else and then it's calculated, but that's some further elaboration. It's a pity we didn't hear anything from our new member who asked it?

Hi Frans

Feedback is important.

We just don't know if the solution is workable as we don't get any feedback at all. Maybe they already got the solution from somewhere else.

Somehow I find that Time is pretty tough to handle in Excel, especially those that require to exclude certain working hours etc. like those in a time sheet. One member asked for an SLA (expected time taken to answer a helpdesk question) and I worked on it for a couple of days but still not able to find a solution that works perfectly in all conditions. Then again maybe I am not that good at Time 🙁

The SLA question is still not answered until now.

I remember that case, but can't find it back to have a look again if I know something. Can you give the link?

OK, thanks. That 'SLA' I was searching for was only in the name of the attachment, so (?) it wasn't found.... 🙂

Tricky case. My reaction is there to not influence the discussion here.
