If a table is formatted with banded rows, when a table row is moved either up or down within the table, how does one retain the banded formatting?

For example: If I have a dark row and move that row up or down so that it is next to a another dark row, I end up with two adjacent dark rows. The banding of the table is not retained.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I can not replicate this scenario with a table, but with a range looking as a table, i.e. a table that has been converted to a range.
If I then copy and paste a banded row this scenario happens.

So my assumption is that it is not a table you are working with. If this is the case then the simple solution is to highlight all the cells that are needed for the table and then press CTRL + T on the keyboard to create a table. When the table is created, make sure all cells in the table is still highlighted and go to Home tab, click the down arrow to the right of the Fill Color button and choose No Fill. Now you can choose whatever table style you want in the Design tab, the banded rows adjusts whenever you insert new rows.
