Hi,

I am wondering if you can help me with a question I have for a rollover calculation I need to do.

I have a sample file that I've attached and I have more detailed comments in the file (in the "Comments" pane) but essentially I need to show an adjustment for tasks that have gone over a certain amount and deduct that overage from the next row that does NOT have an overage amount.

Example:

Task 01 has Manager 01 who has exceeded his allowable amount. Manager 01 also has Task 02 that is still below the allowable amount. The overage of Task 01 needs to be deducted from the allowable amount of Task 02.

I've been able to do this using SUMIFS to get it on a total of all of Manager 01's tasks but I need it to be more granular than that. I'm thinking an IF/MATCH formula but I'm not 100% sure how to structure it.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thank you!

Mamie

Hi Mamie,

With some helper columns you can do it. Best to do this in a table so the dynamic references update correctly. See attached.

Hi Mynda,

So sorry for such a late reply! I like the managers you added. 🙂

This got me where I needed to go with a couple more helper columns. I really appreciate your help!

Thanks!
