Have a file with multiple worksheets.
On the Index page I have the company name linked to the sheet for that company, so i can instantly go to the sheet I want. That works fine
In the next column to the company name on the Index page I have a monetary figure I copy from the company sheet and Paste Link onto the index page - That has worked fine - the figure changing as the money goes up or down
I recently (as I have started courses on here) converted the Index page to a Table.... because I could.. stupid me!
Today I added a new company, new sheet for the the company. When I added a new line to the Index sheet, the company name hyperlinked fine... but when I tried to copy and paste/link the numerical figure the paste link button was "greyed" out.
I have tried clearing the table formatting - think it's been done; Tried shut down and re-start - nothing;
When I try to copy and paste link into another part of the Index sheet that's not been part of the table... it works fine...
I think it has to be something to do with my formatting as a table, but what I have no idea..... Help!

Hi Rob,
It's difficult to troubleshoot without the file. Have you tried just adding the formula rather than copying it from another cell? i.e. type = in the cell, then click on the cell in the sheet you want returned.

Thanks for the suggestion, but problem now solved - just because I'd cleared the table I assumed that it had cleared the format, but because Paste link would not work inside the columns but would work on blank cells outside the columns I figured that it had to be something to do with table - some googling revealed that I needed to convert to a range - never heard of it - that seemed to work, so another lesson learnt!
