Hi
I have created a spreadsheet which the user will complete. To help with data entry I have created a drop down list. However, my drop down list is quite long - over 100 possible entries. So the user will need to scroll down quite a long list to get to the required entry.
Many of the entries are in a similar format - see table below.
I wondered if there was a 'predictive text' feature within Excel. So for example, if the user enter 1 only the entries beginning with 1 would be shown. If they continued (say) with 1D then only those entries will be displayed until they got to the required entry. Also, it they entered a incorrect value (say) 1T then an error would be displayed.
Am I asking for too much?
BTW - I am using an quite old version of Excel - 2013!

Hi Peter,
This functionality is only available in Excel 365 or in Excel Online. You would need to save the file on OneDrive to enable sharing of the file and opening in Excel Online.

Hello,
If there is only one drop down list then you can try using a PivotTable and its filter field, as described in the blog post searchable drop down list in Excel.
