Hi, my calculated items in a pivot table is preventing my slicers from working. It no longer greys out filters that don't match as excel can no longer identify which types have no data for the filters applied. I tried to group as a work around but that doesn't work either. Any help much appreciated.

Hello,

Would love to give some help but without any file to see what's wrong it's impossible. I can guess, but what is the point in that?
Please upload a sample file.

Br,
Anders

Hi, That would be great thank you, I've attached. The slicers work for area and then stops at manager and name when it should be greyed out if not an option. I have a lot of data and will grow each month, it will take a long time to find the name and I need it to be quick for it to be a useful report. Many thanks.

Hi Em,

Looks like this is a limitation caused by the calculated items. I've never noticed it before as I don't tend to use calculated items and fields very much.

If the Slicer limitation is a showstopper for you, then you can try building it with Power Pivot and DAX as explained here.
