Hi, My question is in reference to the video on your YouTube channel "Interactive Personal Finance Dashboard" I'm on the 'Dual Column Chart' step (15:00) and I am having trouble grouping the dates with the pivot table, the dialogue box is not appearing for me and I cant get the months to display like in the video. I did some searching and tried a few things but they didn't work. (The dates are formatted as numbers as far as I can tell) Does anyone have any tips on how to fix this?

I am using Excel version 2108 on a Windows PC

Thanks

Hi Oscar,

Thanks for sharing your file. Your dates are not the correct format. They're text and they need to be date serial numbers. You can use the DATEVALUE function to convert them to proper date serial numbers, then apply a date format so they look like the dates you currently see in column B.

Once they're in the correct format, you can refresh your PivotTable and they should be able to be grouped.
