Hello,

I have created sheets for the Chart of Accounts, General Journal, and General Ledger in MS Excel. A general ledger was created using a pivot table. Everything works perfectly, but I am facing an issue specifically with the Ledger. I have used slicers — one is for the Account and the other is for the Timeline. The Account slicer Timeline slicer works fine.
However, the issue arises when I generate the ledger for a specific account. For example, if I select the ledger for the Cash Account and then use the Timeline slicer to select a date range, such as from 15-Oct-2024 to 14-Nov-2024, the data appears, but the Previous Running Balance does not show.
Please help me resolve this issue.

File Attached....

I noticed three same files in the attachments and tried to remove two before answering. All three are gone now. Can you please upload one again. Sorry for the mistake.

OK, looked at the file. But I do not see a Running Total anywhere, so I don't understand the question.

This is the Previous total when I closed the month. My Company close the month at the 14 of every month. 14-10-2024 the closing balance is 116,558. So, I want this Closing is show as opening when I select the date range.

A regular pivot table can handle such Current YTD totals. You'll need to write a DAX measure in Power Pivot for that. I'm on Mac right now and not close to a PC for quite a while, so can't help you right now as Power Pivot is not available in Excel for the Mac.

The system isn't working with me today and I obviously wanted to write in post# 6:

"A regular pivot table can not handle ..."

I'll get back to you later as I need access to a PC first.

With all due respect, I mentioned I wouldn't be able to answer immediately. So please do not be impatient. My involvement here is voluntary and only when I have the time and occasion to contribute.

The attached file contains a partial solution using Power Pivot and a few DAX measures. Perhaps it will be good enough for you.
