I want to map a set of addresses - they are not the usual city/county ones and I'm wondering if there is a way for me to get the longitude and latitude of each address so I can use that data with the Excel 3d maps function...am open to suggestions. Thanks.

Hi Anne,

When I've tried this in the past I've come up blank. There are paid services, but nothing I could find for free.

You don't need long. and lat. for 3D maps, you can use regular addresses, post codes etc.

hi Mynda

Thanks for getting back to me. I've located a couple of files - openly available property register that has lat/long on them but it would require a bit of jiggery-pokery on my side (since the spelling isn't consistent etc) and we have only recently half-implemented a postal code system here... However my son assures me it can be done in Python with Google maps and it will spit out a CSV file for me. So I am exercising a bit of maternal guilt (!) for him to do that...thanks for getting back to me. A
