I wanted to confirm once you have created a list with data you can no longer copy that data.

Ex: I created a list north, south, west, east on cells A1 to A5.  Now when I go to B1 and I want to copy north from B1 to B5 I get the list.  Is that normal?

You should still be able to only use one item of the list without populating the whole list; in the same way you can use the months of the year for just one month or the whole year. Did you check your settings?

Yes in fact I realised that when I pull down the I get an "option" menu from where I can choose "copy the cells" and then yes I get the copied cell throughout. Thanks:)
