I have a file that opens to me everyday and today it does not open and write an error message
Excel can not open the .xlsx income and expense tracking file because the file format or file extension is invalid. Make sure that the file is not corrupted and that the file extension matches the file format

Can be lots of things. I was thinking of: check if the file extension indeed is .xlsx and if not try rename it and open it again. If you open in Windows Explorer, try opening from within Excel or vice-versa. If you open from within Excel try finding the file in your history and open it from there, or just search it and open it then. And if this doesn't work, maybe something caused a corrupted file. If you have a backup-file, try opening that one and replace it on your normal hard drive, with a slightly other name so it can's be mixed with your original file. Hope this helps?
