i need to make a calculation on a range of data in one equation in one cell by writing start and end date of the data , attached example is a very simple one but i am working on a 4 years data file , so your help is highly appreciated

I think the sumifs is the solution for you for this question.
Here your file with two calculations: one 'handmade' (dates) and one referring to the dates you provided.

I was convinced i replied to this yesterday, must have forgot the submit.
Yes sumifs ifs the perfect formula
Just panicked then as we had different totals until i noticed you used Column C in the table (Column E in Excel) and i used column C in Excel which is A in the table.
At least we got the same result!
