Hi All,
I would like to make a standard template for annual / periodic financial reports. I want to use this report for multiple businesses. Each report will have the same structure and layout.
The idea is to make the balance sheet, income statement, cashflow and the supported explanation in Excel with pivot tables. And make a template in a Word document. I want to dynamically link the pivot tables with the right category in the report.
I found out the best way to do this is copy paste the pivot table in Excel and in Word: Paste special > paste link > Formatted text RTF
However I run into all kinds of layout problems (while refreshing the data) like: description and numbers are not on the same line, arbitrary spacing between line items.
Does anyone have experience on the subject or have a good (alternative) solution?
Many thanks in advance, Aalloo
Oh yeah, I am on a windows machine, using office 2019.....
Hi Rutger,
Welcome to our forum!
In my experience it's easier to create your report from Excel and print to PDF rather than export/import to Word. You can always type the written content of the report into text boxes in Excel.
