Formatting lost on data table

Earlier today I completed the tutorial "excel_dashboard_in_minutes".

I created my own dashboard using the data table that was part of the completed example.  I have attached my file here.

At the end of the tutorial I pasted in the 2020 data as described in the video. When I pasted in the 2020 data it worked fine as far as becoming part of the data table. I was able to refresh the charts and pivot tables with no problem. But my data table itself did not seem to keep the formatting for the new data. Instead of banded blue and white rows I got just all solid blue. I attempted to click on table design to simply change the table style completely but it seemed like nothing changes when I select a new style. Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong?

You must have pasted the data from a range that had the darker blue as its fill colour. Select the entire table and set the background to "No fill". Then, any manually added fill colour will be removed and the original table style colour will remain.

To avoid this in the future, it is best to paste new data directly below table as values. Then the table formats will also apply to the added data.
