Hi, I changed to Excel 2016 yesterday and the first thing I wanted to do is build a nice map like from the dashboard webinar myself.
The tabs seem to be all OK and I can select in the Charts section "Maps".
The chart frame is fully functional. I can go for Change Chart Type..., Select Data…, etc. and also add chart elements.
The only thing missing is the map itself plus the map source indication "Powered by Bing …" at the bottom.
Strangely enough Tour and Bing Maps both do show a map from Bing, means I can access the Bing info.
I attach a file to ilustrate the issue. [Was too big, so I truncated it to the bare minimum.]
Hi Matthias,
It sounds like you weren't connected to the internet when you inserted the map chart. It requires an internet connection so that Bing can tell Excel where to map the data.
I tested your file and it worked for me, so hopefully that's all it was.

Hi Mynda,
Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, that is what the message says: "Make sure you're online".
I am online: I write on this forum and in Excel the Tour chart and Bing Maps show the map as they should. I sent a mail which should prove that it is not a connection issue.
Regards,
Matthias
Hin Mynda,
I have good news, in my office it works without any delay whatsoever.
So at home I can receive the Bing information for the Tour chart and also Bing Maps and for Maps from the Charts tab I have to work in the office.
Thanks,
Matthias
Glad you have a workaround. Perhaps you're not logged in to Excel at home and this is required for it to connect to the internet. I'm not sure to be honest, but it's a strange bug.
