Duplication of a pivot table (by copy-paste) not generating a second pivot table, but just a simple table. How can I fix this ?

Hi there !
I am coying a pivot table to get a second one with the same cache but this duplicated pivot table is not active: it is actually just a simple table, not referring to any pivot table fields when clicking on it 🙁

Would you see a way to fox this ?
Thanks

Philippe

Hi Philippe,

Did you copy and Paste Special > Values, or Copy and Paste? If that's not the problem are you able to share the exact steps you're taking to copy and paste the PivotTables?

Thank you Mynda for your quick reply,

Yes, I used the usual "copy-paste" but the issue came from elsewhere.

I actually realized that, when copying my 1st pivot table (which had a filter line on top of the table), I copied only the table and not the filter line above. After having copied the full set (i.e. pivot table + filter line) it finally worked.
So this is fixed for me now 🙂

I hope this post can help other Excel users, in case they run into the same problem...

Cheers

Philippe

Glad you got it figured out, Philippe. Great to see you're practicing. It's small mistakes like this that solidify our learning.
