Do you recommend creating pivot tables from your data first, and then creating pivot charts for your dashboard?

Which setup structure is best for updating the dashboard data? Thank you.

Hi Patricia,

I'd set up the PivotTable and then insert the Pivot Chart for it and make sure it's going to suit your dashboard needs. Then move on to the next PivotTable and chart etc.

PivotTables are definitely the best way to support your dashboard charts etc. because they're more robust than formulas, but sometimes you may need to revert to formulas if PivotTables can't do what you need. This should be the exception though.

Thank you for your answer. Can you recommend any excel support via email or phone - maybe an excel specialist who can help me prepare my dashboard?
