Dear All,

In my data I need to group years into certain intervals. I only have years (when a building was constructed), not dates. The desired output is:

Pre-1937

1937-1973

1974-1988

1989-1995

1996-2001

2002 or newer

Unknown

Unfortunately, since this is text and not actual numbers, the slicer is sorted in the following way (which does not look good/logical):

1937-1973

1974-1988

1989-1995

1996-2001

2002 or newer

Pre-1937

Unknown

I don't think that creating a custom list would be feasible, because I have multiple users and I cannot create a custom list in everyone's Excel.

Is there any other way to force the slicer items to be sorted in a way that makes more sense for my data?

Thank you,

Blanka

Hi Blanka

Maybe you can try changing the text Pre-1937 to 1936 and before.

You can also begin the text 'Pre 1937' with a space. The space is sorted before the numbers so that'll do the same.
