Good day,

I want to use the Dashboard personally. I am trying to remove the example data from the Transactions tab. If I add an extra record at the bottom of Transactions tab (with example data), it works perfectly. As soon as I remove your example data, it breaks. The date is not displaying correctly in the dashboard as well as the pivot table. After adding data, I right click in the Analysis tab and choose "Refresh". See screenshots attached. First screenie is the new entry, second is the "Analysis" tab after refresh and third is the dashboard after refresh. Do I need to click refresh?

Hi Rick,

Welcome to our forum! Please share your file so we can see what is going on. It looks like the date format in your transactions tab might be in a different format, or not entered as a date serial number.

Thanks for sharing the file, Rick. The date is entered correctly. There shouldn't be any spare/blank rows in the table. This is what's causing the blanks in the PivotTable and Slicer. When you add data to the next available row in the table it will automatically expand to include it and that new data will be included in your report once you Refresh All.

You'll also need to go into the PivotTable Options (right-click) and on the Data tab set the 'Number of items to be retained per field' to 'None' to get rid of the blanks. Lastly, you need to group the dates in the PivotTable (right-click > Group) by month.
