I am attempting to create a dynamic line chart in excel that can adjust to the length of the series data length. The chart will be a line chart that shows the performance of two stocks over time and I won't always have returns that match the same periods of time and need the chart to adjust accordingly. For example, one series might have data from January 2014-December 2017 while the other will have data only from January 2016-October 2017. So the chart will need to be smart enough to only display the returns for the length of time which each series has a value.
I have been able to accomplish this using the OFFSET function and defined names, but my sheet also allows the user to change out the asset with a toggle and it appears the offset solution is not compatible with the toggle.

Basically, I need the chart to "snap" to only display the blue line where the orange line is being displayed.

It would better if you can attach some sample data in a worksheet and describe what you have done and what you wanted.
